Bali's New International Hospital in Sanur: A Hub for Integrated Travel and Healthcare

The final stages of development are underway for the new Bali International Hospital in Sanur, which is part of a broader transformation of the area into a world-class medical and wellness tourism resort. This initiative, known as the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ), aims to make Bali a leading medical tourism destination in Southeast Asia.

Integrated Travel and Health Services

In collaboration with luxury tourism operators and healthcare professionals, the hospital is ensuring a seamless experience for medical tourists. PT Hotel Internasional Sanur Indonesia (HISI), the operator of the Sanur Health SEZ, has signed a partnership with PT Gapura Angkasa to provide VIP airport transfers, ensuring end-to-end travel support for patients visiting for medical purposes. This VIP treatment is part of a broader effort to make healthcare accessible and stress-free for international patients.

Centers of Excellence and Cutting-Edge Partnerships

Set to open in early 2025, the Bali International Hospital will feature six centers of excellence, specializing in cardiology, oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, and comprehensive medical check-ups. The hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities and collaborations with global leaders, such as Australia’s Icon Group and Singapore’s SingHealth, promise to bring top-tier cancer care and other specialized treatments to Bali.

These partnerships are focused on enhancing medical training, joint research, and providing complex care, ensuring that the hospital operates at international standards. The collaboration with Icon Group, Australia’s largest private cancer care provider, specifically aims to bridge gaps in oncology care in Indonesia.

A One-Stop Health and Wellness Destination

The new developments in Sanur are designed to provide a comprehensive approach to medical and wellness tourism. Alongside the hospital, Sanur SEZ will feature cell therapy clinics, fertility clinics, plastic surgery, and more, turning the area into a one-stop destination for health and wellness needs.

The ICON Bali Mall, part of the Sanur complex, is also under development and will include unique attractions such as a butterfly park, vertical forest, and edible garden—offering patients and visitors an environment conducive to relaxation and healing.

Transforming Bali's Healthcare Landscape

The Bali International Hospital and the Sanur SEZ are poised to transform Bali into a medical tourism hotspot, rivaling destinations like Bangkok and Singapore. For tourists seeking high-quality healthcare, the integration of luxury services, medical facilities, and wellness amenities ensures a holistic approach to recovery and wellness in one of the most beautiful settings in the world.

This new development represents Bali's commitment to becoming a leader in healthcare and medical tourism, providing reassurance and comfort for both residents and visitors in search of exceptional medical care. As Bali expands its offerings beyond tourism into the realm of wellness and healthcare, this initiative solidifies its reputation as a place for healing, comfort, and world-class experiences.
